This portfolio is a sample of some the really early music I did around 1990-1992.
Most of the sequencing was done on a Commodore Amiga 2000 running either Bars and Pipes or (for the
really early shit) Dr. T's Tiger Cub.
While there's plenty to cringe at here, I still like listening to it and I'm glad to have a record of it. I have to remind myself that I was learning to play guitar while at the same time learning to record to analog tape, how to effectively engineer a recording using limited tools and deconstructing songs to learn how to write my own. The recordings were all done on Fostex and Tascam 4 tracks; I've lost track of the models, though I still have the box for the Tascam Porta-03 Ministudio, though I think this was used for the later recordings, not so much the really early stuff.
The hardware I used during this period (at least as much of it as I can remember) was:
- Commodore Amiga 2000 running Dr. T's Tiger Cub and/or Bars and Pipes
- Roland CM-64
- Korg M1
- Peavey PVM 45 Mic
- Gibson Epiphone Electric Guitar
- Charvel CSM-2B Electric Bass
- Ovation Celebrity CC65 12-String Acoustic/Electric
- Tascam and Fostex 4-Tracks
